Important! The following information is made available by the Italian Government and by other bodies responsible for vaccinations and issuing the Green Pass. COREP is not involved in the procedures. 

BEFORE THE DEPARTURE

As a result of the Covid-19 epidemic, in order to enter and stay in Italy, it is necessary to be aware of the travelling rules and the measures established by the Italian legislation necessary for entering in Italy.

Upon arrival in Italy it is necessary to immediately comply with the prevention measures established for the stay in the Country.
Those dispositions depend on the Country of departure and the current Italian legislation. More information by completing the questionnaire available here.

Covid Green Certificate

General information about the Covid Green Certificate (so-called Green Pass) in Italy

Workers and Students of the University of Turin are allowed to enter the campuses and attend lectures with the certificates currently used (i.e. the Covid-19 Certificate obtained with vaccination, recovery or negative swab test result, or Certification of exemption).

Since 6 December 2021 a new type of Covid-19 green pass has been introduced: A “Green Pass rafforzato” or “Super Green Pass”, for the Italian law, is a Covid-19 Certificate obtained after vaccination or recovery from Covid-19.

FAQs

Do you already have a Green Pass obtained abroad?

You can use a Green Pass obtained in the following countries:
  • EU and the Schengen Area countries
  • San Marino (until 31 December 2021)
  • Non-EU countries (and territories) that have joined the EU Digital COVID Certificate system Canada, Japan, Israel, United Kingdom (European territories), USA. Note that: these Green Passes are not verifiable through the "VerificaC19" app.

Which vaccines are now authorised by EMA?

  • Comirnaty di Pfizer-BioNtech
  • Spikevax (Moderna)
  • Vaxzevria di AstraZeneca
  • Janssen (Johnson & Johnson)
  • Nuvaxovid (Novavax)

Do you want to get a Green Pass and you have been vaccinated with a vaccine not approved by the EMA and not recognised as equivalent by the Italian law (such as Sputnik, Sinovac, etc.)?


The Italian Ministry of Health, with the Circular of 04th November 2021, has established that those who have completed a vaccination course anti-CoViD19 with a vaccine not approved by EMA, can receive a “booster” dose with an mRNA vaccine after at least 28 days and within 6 months (180 days) after the completion of the primary vaccination course.
After 6 months from the completion of the primary vaccination course, or in case the course has not been completed, it is possible to receive a full primary vaccination course with an mRNA vaccine.

Do you want to get the Green Pass issued in Canada, Japan, Israel, United Kindom (European territories), USA, recognised in order to obtain an EU Covid Certificate issued in Italy?

  • Obtain an Italian Fiscal Code

    • Your Passport
    • Your Green Pass
    • Univocal code released by the Country where you received the vaccination (it could be indicated on the Green Pass)
  • Get the AUTHCODE
  • Fill out the form to obtain the Green Pass (available only in Italian) by selecting: “Utente senza tessera sanitaria o vaccinato all'estero” (User without health card or vaccinated abroad)
  • Download the Green Pass

Do you want to get a Green Pass in Italy thanks to the recognition of a vaccination (among those approved by the EMA) made abroad?

  • Obtain an Italian Fiscal Code
  • Ask the Local Health Autorithy (ASL) of competence in your place of domicile/residency or send an e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. attaching:
    • Your Passport
    • Your Green Pass
    • Univocal code released by the Country where you received the vaccination (it could be indicated on the Green Pass)

Do you want to get a Green Pass in Italy thanks to the recognition of a certificate of recovery obtained abroad?

  • Obtain an Italian Fiscal Code
  • Ask the Local Health Autorithy (ASL) of competence in your place of domicile/residency or send an e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. attaching:
    • Your Passport
    • The certificate of recovery obtained abroad
  • Get the NUCG (Univocal Number of the Certification of Recovery)
  • Fill out the form to obtain the Green Pass (available only in Italian) by selecting: “Utente senza tessera sanitaria o vaccinato all'estero” (User without health card or vaccinated abroad)
  • Download the Green Pass

Do you want to be vaccinated in Italy and obtain the Green Pass with an ID Document/Passport and an Italian Fiscal Code, but without an Italian Health Card?

  • Obtain an Italian Fiscal Code
  • Go to a vaccination HUB with free access. Here the updated list.
  • Get the AUTHCODE
  • Fill out the form to obtain the Green Pass (available only in Italian) by selecting: “Utente senza tessera sanitaria o vaccinato all'estero” (User without health card or vaccinated abroad)
  • Download the Green Pass. Attention: the green pass issued after the first dose of vaccine is valid until the date of the second dose.

Do you want to get a Green Pass in Italy by means of a negative test result with only an ID Document/Passport

  • Go to a pharmacy that offers the rapid antigen test, with an ID document or passport
  • Perform the test and obtain the NRFE code (Electronic Report Number of the Antigenic Swab “Numero Referto Elettronico del Tampone antigenico”)
  • Fill out the form to obtain the Green Pass (available only in Italian) by selecting: “Utente senza tessera sanitaria o vaccinato all'estero” (User without health card or vaccinated abroad)
  • Download the Green Pass. Attention: the Green Pass thus obtained is valid for 48 hours.
