The Program is organized by the Interdepartmental University School for Strategic Sciences (SUISS) of the University of Turin, in collaboration with several partners.

 

The course is born in Turin, thanks to a synergy with the Italian Army Education and Training Command and School of Applied Military Studies, the Carabinieri Command for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, the Conservation and Restoration Centre "La Venaria Reale", the International Institute of Humanitarian Law, the UNESCO Chair in Sustainable Development and Territory Management of the University of Turin.

Thanks to the technical-scientific support of the Fondazione Santagata for the Economics of Culture, the master also collaborates with a strong network of national and international institutions and agencies including UNESCO, ICCROM, ICOM.

The course is managed by COREP and receives the generous support of Fondazione CRT.

The Interdepartmental University School of Strategic Sciences (SUISS) is a special teaching structure of the University of Turin, specialized in strategic sciences and military studies.

ITALIAN ARMY - Education and Training Command and School of Applied Military Studies
The Education and Training Command and School of Applied Military Studies, situated in Turin, is responsible for the training fo the Italian Army personnel. Its tasks are divided into three areas: basic education, advanced education and language education. With about 1.000 Officers attending courses every year, a hundred civil students, 118 university teachers and 30 military teachers that teach more than 100 university subjects and 28 military subjects, the School represents one of the didactic centers of excellence and a nwe cultural centre of prestige for the city of Turin.

CARABINIERI Command for the Protection of Cultural Heritage
The Carabinieri Command for the Protection of Cultural Heritage was established on May 3rd, 1969, to deal with effective tools and targeted interventions to the alarming phenomenon of pauperization of the largest museum in the world: Italy. Italy was the first nation in the world to have a police organization specialized in the specific sector, anticipating the recommendation of the General Conference of the UNESCO, which, from Paris, indicated to the acceding States the opportunity to adopt various measures aimed at preventing the acquisition of illegally exported goods and favoring the recovery of the stolen ones.

The International Institute of Humanitarian Law (IIHL) is an indipendent, non-profit humanitarian organization founded in 1970. The main purpose of the Institute is to promote the development of international humanitarian law, human rights, refugee law, immigration law and related issues. Thanks to its specific, well-tested experience, the Institute has earned an international reputation as a centre of excellence in the field of training, research, and the dissemination of all aspects of international humanitarian law.

CENTRE FOR RESTORATION AND CONSERVATION "LA VENARIA REALE"

CENTRE FOR RESTORATION AND CONSERVATION
The Foundation for Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage "La Venaria Reale" was founded in 2005 as an institute for higher education and research in the field of restoration and conservation of cultural heritage. Together with training, the aims fo the Centre lie in the study and experimental research, in promoting the development of business in the area and in participating in international research and conservation programs.

The UNESCO Chair in Sustainable Development and Territory Management was established in 2010 at the University of Turin to promote an integrated system of research, training, information and documentation on sustainable development and territory management and to facilitate internation cooperation and the dissemination of research results between research institutes and universities in Italy and around the world.

The Italian National Commission for UNESCO, established in 1950, aims at promoting the connection, information, consultation and implementation of UNESCO programs in Italy. The Italian National Commission for UNESCO collaborates in the organization of the Master's seminar series.

ICCROM is an intergovernmental organization working in service to its Member States to promote the conservation of all forms of cultural heritage, in every region of the world. It operates in the spirit of the 2001 UNESCO Universal Declaration on Cultural Diversity. For more than six decades, ICCROM has parnered with Member States to support them in safeguarding heritage within their borders and beyond. Working at the international and governmental levels, and with institutions and professionals and the general public with an interest in heritage.

ICOM - INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF MUSEUMS

ICOM - INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF MUSEUMS
ICOM is a membership association and a non-governmental organization born in 1946, which establishes professional and ethical standards for museum activities. As forum of experts, it makes recommendations on issues related to cultural heritage, promotes capacity building and advanced knowledge. ICOM is the voice of museum professionals on international stage and raises public cultural awareness through global networks and co-operation programs.

INTERPOL - International Criminal Police Organization

INTERPOL is an inter-governmental organization with 194 member countries, which help police in all of them to work together to make the world a safer place. To do this, INTERPOL enables them to share and access data on crimes and criminals, and offers a range of technical and operational support. In each country, an INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) provides the central point of contact for the General Secretariat and other NCBs. An NCB is run by national police officials and usually sits in the government ministry responsible for policing. The General Assembly is the governing body and it brings all countries together once a year to take decisions.

The Fondazione Santagata for the Economics of Culture, founded on April 13th 2018, on initiative of the Silvia Santagata Research Centre (CSS-EBLA), is a research team working on the models for the management of cultural heritage, with a specific reference to the economic dimension of development and to UNESCO related programs, and on the production of culture and cultural innovation.

It has the task of ensuring the protection of archaeological, architectural, historical-artistic and landscape heritage in the territory of the metropolitan city of Turin.

The Royal Museums of Turin, born in 1563, are one of the largest and most diverse museum complexes in Europe and are equal, for their size and for the value of their collections, to the major European royal residences. PALAZZO MADAMA

PALAZZO MADAMA
Palazzo Madama was the first Senate of the Italian Kingdom, and takes its traditional name from the embellishments it received under two queens (madama) of the House of Savoy. The Palace houses the Turin City Museum of Ancient Art: a large collection of paintings, statues, church ornaments, porcelain, and decorative art, mostly from the late Middle Ages to the 18th century.

The National Historical Museum of Artillery has about 11,000 artifacts that, starting from prehistory, come to modern times. They are divided into different categories: artillery and related accessories, various models, ammunition, long portable weapons, short portable weapons, wheeled plates, flint and luminel, primers and accessories for ancient weapons, white weapons, flags, various trophies, medals and paintings.

CASTLE OF MONCALIERI
The Castle of Moncalieri is a palace in Moncalieri (Metropolitan City of Turin), which is one of the Residences of the Royal House of Savoy listed by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites in 1997. It was built around 1100 by Thomas I of Savoy and, nowadays, the palace hosts the 1st Carabinieri Regiment "Piemonte" and it is part of the Piedomntese Museum Pole - Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities.

The CRT Foundation is a private non-profit organization whose activity finds its ideal roots in the philantropic work carried out since 1827 by the Cassa di Risparmio di Torino. It intervenes in the key sector of Piedmont and Aosta Valley's development, which leads to three macro-area: Arts and Culture, Research and Education, Welfare and Territory.

Compagnia di San Paolo

The Compagnia di San Paolo pursues socially useful objectives in order to promote cultural, civil and economic development with the income from its assets. Article three of the Articles of Association states that the Compania operates in the sectors allowed under Legislative Decree 17th May 1999 no. 153, from which relevant areas are chosen every three years. In any case, the Compagnia only makes this choice within the broad areas in which its institutional activity is organized, such as research and health, the arts, cultural heritage and activities, cultural innovation, and social policy. The Compagnia’s work is carried out through grants and projects directly managed by its own organisation and instrumental bodies: the Fondazione per la Scuola, the Ufficio Pio, the Fondazione 1563 per l'Arte e la Cultura, the Collegio Carlo Alberto, Istituto Superiore sui Sistemi Territoriali per l’Innovazione, Fondazione Links, and the Italian Institute for Genomic Medicine.
